News: Library and IC Partner on Lab Pilot
The Library and Instructional Computing are partnering together on a pilot project called the Science Library lab. Starting on March 31, 2008, the Cowell Room computer lab at the Science and Engineering Library will be supported and staffed by ITS Instructional Computing. Current students, staff and faculty with a UCSC login and password will be able to print their documents and have the jobs billed to their UCSC account (or bill), as is the case in other IC labs. Printing jobs using a Copier Services print card will still be an option for the public, as it is in other Library printing locations. The hardware, software and lab policies will be similar to other IC lab locations.
This pilot will run until the end of Fall Quarter, 2008, in order to gather data and analyze what the next steps will be. For more information, visit http://ic.ucsc.edu/scilib and please feel free to give us feedback at ic@ucsc.edu.
