Borrow from Other Libraries
- If the UCSC libraries don't have what you need, or the item you want is checked out, you may borrow items from another library through Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
- The most direct way to borrow books is to use the Request feature available through Melvyl, the UC systemwide library catalog or use the UC-eLinks button available in most article databases (visit the Interlibrary Loan page for more information)
- Books borrowed through Interlibrary Loan are subject to due dates established by the lending library and are usually shorter than the UCSC April 15th due date; due dates are clearly marked on the strap attached to the borrowed item
- Articles from journals not owned by UCSC can be borrowed through Interlibrary Loan at no charge [Use the Interlibrary Loan page to access forms for ordering journal articles]
- Note: A charge applies for delivery of articles from journals owned by UCSC; you will be alerted if the journal is owned by UCSC when filling out the form
Off Campus Access
- Use Off Campus Access , the library proxy service, to access online databases and electronic journals from home.
- You must have an active library account to use this service

- Classes and workshops are free and open to the campus community
