t the start of the third millennium, the UCSC Library faces more challenges than ever: preserving the printed record of the past; adding tens of thousands of new volumes annually; accommodating a dizzying array of new information formats, from videotapes and videodisks to CDs and CD-ROMs; building more book stacks and computer labs, so our library staff can help students and faculty find the right answer to the right question at the right time.
